We’ve had a busy weekend, a great one but I’m definitely pooped out now! We’ve had 2 christenings and the town carnival rolled right past our house last night which was an amazing experience yet again.
The christenings were both lovely and it was so nice to catch up with some of our mummy and daddy friends and for the children to run around together. They were all so well behaved they definitely earnt a few helpings of cake! If my husband left any behind that is!

Polly was in her element of course. She was her usual cheeky self- photobombing pictures, pinching the edible flowers of cakes, trying to order things from the bar….
She also demanded I join her on the soft play and then surrounded me with unicorns when I declined the offer to ride one.
Seb is learning fast and realising that he needs to go all out to match his sister in the ‘being a monkey’ stakes. Today he won. Just at the important bit Henry and I gave each other the look as we’d both heard the familiar sound of our son’s arse. I disappeared as quietly and quickly as I could into the little kitchen area off the entrance only to discover a full scale poonami incident. Perfect time to also realise the nappy bag needs readjusting to be autumn/winter ready. Seb had to make do with a ‘little dude’ onesie and I gave up on the idea of a second family photo shoot to prove that all of us getting dressed up is possible on more than one day of the year.
I mean it doesn’t take much to forgive when you look this cute…
The weather has been the only thing to let the weekend down, yesterday was horrendous so once we got home we got straight into our pjs- well all bar Henry as he sadly had to go back out in the gale as he had work. So when the carnival passed by our front door we must have looked quite a sight particularly as this was Polly’s face through most of it…
Last weekend she also got the treat of a classic car show in the town. She loves her vehicles and usually has one in her hands, even at night. As Henry is also a big formula one fan I shouldn’t be too surprised that my child can recognise her cars better than her colours. She now points out Ferrari’s, Mercedes, Audi’s, saubers, red bulls, Aston martins and her white Porsche is her favourite. One day we’ll get round to learning the difference between red and blue but for now I love the look on people’s faces when she points out ‘oooh Ferrari!’
